Nice pictures. I've only just stetrad astronomy as a hobby, with an Orion XT10i Intelliscope. Its a Newtonian Reflector on a Dobsonian base, which I am starting to discover makes astrophotography a little difficult since it does not have motors to enable equatorial tracking. Still I am able to take some photos and use K3CCDTools to take AVI's and Registax to stack the frames and improve the photos. They are not bad results, but your photos of Mars and Jupiter are very nice, some good detail in Mars particularly, which I understand can be a bit difficult to photograph. I too use a webcam, a Phillips SPC900NC which is a similar spec and sensitivity to your Toucam, except I think mine allows the modification for the Steve Chambers long exposure mod to be made even easier, due to a redesign of the circuit board which brings the required connections away from the chips which are so tiny it makes soldering to them difficult on the Toucam. I have yet to make the SC LX mod, but I chose this webcam because of the ease of doing it.

I agree 100% with ya.... I personally thought that freedom of speech was just that. Free to speak one's mind with out fear of being prosecuted. I don not know the situation but to be arrested for stating a fact or a negative is just plain out ignorance in my book. You will always have another person who is different whether they have a darker skin tone or prefer same sex. Or think they can walk on water. Its not the Middle Ages folks so grow some balls. If u don't like what u hear or see then turn the hell around. Or speak up and say what u want. Makes no never mind to me. I know how to say what I think

You should be happy you don't live in Greece. Here 'journalism' as a Brit would know it does not exist (or barely makes it to the surface of the pot through the scum). I had cause to protest to an established journalist about an item they broadcast regarding the supposed punishment of an moslem child for stealing bread. It was in fact a well know fraudulent email thing to dishonour moslems (or whatever other purpose it had). Similarly, not long after Will and Kate got married, there was a news item on a major Greek channel about the 'fact' that W&K are unable to have children -WTF?! They are as competent and fact checking as those who automatically send on the 'world's most deadly pc virus' emails and the like.
I fear that in the age of the Internet and easy access to information, fewer and fewer people are actually validating their facts, and what is written in cyberspace is given as being true, de facto. A very dangerous age that we live in.

Love your astronomy bits (must get myself a trolley!)

hah well, there were other factors you see

1) They werent my wife's legs;
2) The boyfriend of the owner was there as well, if it looked like I was trying to hard to get her legs, I might have been in trouble;
3) They weren't actually that good - they look much better blurred like that;
4) The Guinness was being especially nice that day.

Right on. Think about Paypal. It takes a fee, but doesn't take a week and a half to transfer. And it's fully guaranteed. Trust me, I only use credit unions, never ever use banks.
